nothing is wrong with that place. It's just a trade town or flee market. Looking for an auction house or function like an auction in game and price someone would pay.

Slow. Limited. Annoying.
When I want to sit around and have idle chatter, I sit around and have idle chatter.
When I want to sell stuff, I put it on eBay, or sell it to a pawn shop, I don't go around yelling at people on the street.

I was helping Veliisx work on a live streaming auction house way back. It showed great signs of promise. People seemed very impressed by it even if it was still in a very crude state.
Unfortunatly Vellisx lost interest and we also were edging closer and closer towards doing things that go against the guildwars agreement. Here is the thread we had going.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/l...tml?t=10357497
Basically how it worked is we had someone stand in a town (Kamadan, American District 1 for example) and then turn of all but the trade chat. We then had had those screenshots uploaded to a server, had them turned into black and white, then the screenshots were cut up, seperating each trade and then ran through an OCR, that OCR was sent to a database and then the results were displayed online.
The final end result we wanted to achieve was a fully realtime, searchable, interacable web auction house that you could have up open at the same time as guildwars, where just like the guru auction house, you could sort trades by swords or shields, etc from the OCR picking up key words in the trades and sorting them automatically into categories. I had even wished to have interactivity by being able to click the name of the trader in the live auction that it would copy that name to your clipboard for you to paste into guildwars. This could have been something tacked onto 1 npc in each town of guildwars instead of us having to stand there.
Though this was the dreamed end result and you can see where there would have been legal issues with the agreement, having documentation about everything going on in the biggest trade center of guildwars.
I still wish Veliisx would have wanted to continue though. I thought it showed great merit as he kept telling me he wasnt very good at programing and he was learning as he went along.
The project is still up for revival though. Unfortunatly I am not a coder myself but I supplied most of the testing and ideas for the project. I would be willing to help providing the same input.

The whole project and website this used to be hosted on has been down since 2009. All that's left about the project is pretty much on that thread and in my brains.

Nothing, it should have been implemented at the start of the game. Doing it now would would be a waste of time and money. I'd would rather their resources go to finishing GW2.
